Service, Pneumatic Masts

Installation - Weep Hole Drain Kit

Water can enter the mast through condensation in the air supply or by draining down the mast sections and entering the collars. Water can freeze in or on the mast causing it to work erratically or not at all. It is very important to keep water out of the mast to avoid damage to the mast and possible delays in operation.

The weep holes on each mast section are located to facilitate the drainage of water which enters the mast during periods of extension.

A drain cock should be installed at the air inlet at the base of the mast to drain water which may have accumulated inside the mast. The drain cock should be opened periodically to drain the mast, particularly after the mast has been opened in the rain.

Instructions:

Turn the hose adapter in ONLY 1 1/2 to 2 turns after initial engagement of threads. Tighten the locknut to secure in place.
