Installation - Mast Extension Magnetic Warning Kit C-9742

As a warning against moving a vehicle while the telescoping mast is extended, the vehicle should be equipped with a mast extension warning system.

The mast extension magnetic warning kit, C-9742, designed for Will-Burt telescoping masts is operated by a magnetic sensitive switch attached to the base mast section. Magnets inside the top mast section activate the switch when the mast is nested. When correctly installed, flashing lights will indicate partial or full extension of the mast. When the mast is lowered and is completely nested the lights will cease to illuminate.

Warning: The vehicle operator should always visually confirm that the mast is fully retraced before moving the vehicle.

The system should be installed per the diagram shown below. One flashing light should be mounted on the dash in full view of the driver.

Warning: The mast extension magnetic warning kit will not operate unless it is installed properly.
